The collections of the Atlanta History Center, which operates the Margaret Mitchell House, contain an array of objects, archival materials, and memorabilia related to Margaret Mitchell and Gone With the Wind.
The Kenan Research Center at the Atlanta History Center holds manuscript materials by Mitchell, including girlhood writings, personal correspondence, and original photographs. Its extensive book collection includes dozens of foreign editions of Gone With the Wind, some of which are inscribed by the author. Film-related material includes photographs, correspondence of Mitchell and Wilbur G. Kurtz, who was the historical advisor for the movie.
Artifacts in the museum collection include Gone With the Wind merchandise, memorabilia of anniversaries for both the book and movie, materials from Selznick studios, and the evening coat worn by Mitchell to the film premiere in Atlanta, as well as objects documenting her philanthropic work.
